News & Updates

Stay up to date with the progress of the MASDER instruments, platform development, and opportunities to connect with the project.

Instrument Progress

MASDER is currently in the operational phase of national data collection. We are administering the SOMAS and SOMADS families of instruments across a stratified random sample of statistics and data science courses.

This web-based administration portal will allow educators and researchers to generate survey links, manage course information, and access results.

The portal is expected to be broadly available by Fall 2025. If you are interested in using the instruments sooner, we are actively partnering with early adopters — please reach out.

Finalized Instruments

The EPIC-S and EPIC-DS learning environment inventories are complete and in use.

Status: Available

Student & Instructor Surveys

S-SOMAS, I-SOMAS, S-SOMADS, and I-SOMADS have been finalized and are actively being administered as part of the national study.

Status: In active deployment
